Hello my faithful and intrepid friends!

It’s been a while, but that’s just because I haven’t been doing much… Time for that to change! Ever since God gave me the vision to sing for Him, I’ve been waiting for Him to define what that looks like, and to define who He wants me to be as an artist. Would I be a solo act? If so, which genre? The list of questions has been vast over the years, but I finally feel like He’s given me an answer, and I wanted to share it with you first… The answer is, “Yes”.

You don’t have time to read the entire explanation, so let me sum up (please get that reference!). Where I wanted to know which box He was going to put me in (solo act, in a band, writing, leading worship, etc.), He was waiting for my little brain to catch on to the idea that as a working musician and performance artist, I would be free to do any and all of the above. I probably will never be a Natalie Grant or Hayley Williams, but that actually frees me up as a working artist. In a typical, wishful, month, I could play a venue with my Southern Rock/Blues band, Forgotten by Friday, lead worship at church twice, run my women’s conference at a local church, and play one or two coffeehouse venues solo. In the midst of all that, I could also be working on any number of recording projects both solo and collaborations, write a blog or two, and still keep up with my teaching schedule (have I told you I’m also giving vocal lessons?).

It sounds like a lot, but for a long time, I’ve just been doing a lot of nothing. I’d much rather fill my days with this. My favorite version of Psalm 46:10 reads, “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.”. I think I was striving for something He never had planned for me, and wondering why He kept telling me, “No”. (I can be a bit slow sometimes)

Anyway, with that groundwork laid (and if any of you are still reading), the month of April is going to see some cool things happen! The 6th song for Reaching Out is going to be mastered, and the full album will be made public (finally) on all platforms. You can still get a preview at CatLeigh.com/ReachingOut until then. If you haven’t followed me on Spotify yet, please do… A double-digit following would be so awesome! Joe and I (mostly Joe) will also be creating a new music video for Ghosts that we’ll release on YouTube.

The event I’m most excited about, though, is coming up next Friday, the 21st, 7pm at Cafe at the Mill in Millbury, MA… I’m opening for Mark Lee (from Third Day)!!! This is so significant for me, and a direct blessing from God because 3 years ago, I was going to be able to share a worship night with Mark Lee at another coffeehouse, but the event had to be canceled as we went into lock down for Covid. The pandemic was crushing for many of us, but that missed opportunity almost broke my will to keep singing. We all know that God loves a good redemption story, though, and I’m excited and beyond grateful that He’s given me a 2nd chance. It pairs well with the beginning of my 2nd Act, yes?!

Thank you all for sticking with me! Just knowing that you were out there has been a blessing. Have a blessed day!

Lots of love!
